12 Oct Cortona3D releases RapidAuthor 8.1 with support for S1000D 4.1 and ability to create video from 3D procedure

Cortona3D (www.cortona3d.com) releases a new version of its leading authoring tool for creating interactive 3D/2D technical publications. RapidAuthor 8.1 supports the latest version of S1000D and allows the user to create video from 3D procedure.

RapidAuthor 8.1 also introduces a multi-threaded import of CAD data what resulted in significant acceleration of the import process. The new capabilities of the CGM editor include hatch style editing and object selection by using an arbitrary closed line.

RapidAuthor S 8.1 is now integrated with Teamcenter CMS. Content developed with RapidAuthor S can be saved in Teamcenter CMS. Changes in the RapidAuthor S project will be reflected in corresponding CMS data. Configurable templates allow for delivering RapidAuthor S publications to Teamcenter CMS in accordance with S1000D 4.1 and DITA 1.1 standard

Other new features in RapidAuthor 8.1 include:

• Improved generation of 2D images from 3D geometry.
• Ability to import textures from JT files and support for JT layer filters.
